SUPERNATURAL THRILLERS

 


FOR WELL OVER A CENTURY the town of Raine's Landing, Massachusetts, has been cut off from the outside world. It's hidden by a witch's curse ... nobody knows it is there, and nobody who was born there can ever leave.

And if that wasn't strange enough, most people who live there practice varying degrees of magic. There are a small group of High Adepts, powerful conjurors indeed. There are the people of the Tyburn district, who live their lives in worship of the Moon Goddess. But almost everybody has a mystic amulet or knows some spells. And that being the case, the town ought to be pretty safe.

But that, unfortunately, is not the case. Raine's Landing is under almost constant supernatural attack, from demons, dark magicians, ancient gods, and even from some people who were born inside the place. It has become a focus for the battle between Light and Dark, and no one can be certain how that magic war will end.

  TONY RICHARDS' SUPERNATURAL STORIES  first started appearing in three classic long-running British series, The Fontana Book of Great Horror Stories, The Fontana Book of Great Ghost Stories and the legendary Pan Book of Horror. And it was the editor of the ghost series - Ronald Chetwynd-Hayes, no mean practitioner of dark fiction himself - who was most vocal in his praise.
